How To Live Happier & Healthier, Fitness & Diet Tips! #AskTRAV
Consistency Is Key If You Want To Live Happier & Healthier!
People have always had a preoccupation with dieting and improving their health. In the past year I have noticed a significant increase in awareness and conversations around “Health & Wellness” within mainstream media. To this, I say, “its about time!”
But I wasn’t always in-the-know when it comes to diet and fitness (notice I said “diet” and not “dieting” — I don’t believe in dieting, I believe in consistency of a balanced diet, not restricting yourself). In fact, I have been very self-conscious about my appearance in the past…even after high school.
I decided to take matters into my own hands by gaining knowledge. You see, I finally put two and two together. I have made great strides in my career and networking by gaining knowledge about the speaking industry and learning how to be a mentor and find mentors for myself. So, why not gain knowledge about a topic I was self-conscious about?
Well, I did and here is what I found…
The basics of how to live happier & healthier:
It is not rocket science, keep it simple.
Find others who do it well and copy what they do.
Be consistent. No excuses.
Gaining knowledge about how to “do it right” is key
(knowledge about healthy foods AND exercising properly – don’t be “that guy” who acts like they know what they’re doing because they are too stubborn to ask for advice)
Here is a photo that demonstrates how I made progress over the course of a little over two years. It doesn’t happen fast!! There is no short cut! But it is worth it and if you stay consistent you never have to start over…it even becomes FUN! 🙂 If it is blurry, click the image to open and read the text easier.
The end result of my dedication to personal development in health and wellness has been more than just an improved feeling about my body image. Here is a brief list of what increasing my knowledge of health, wellness, and fitness has done for me:
- Improved my sleep
- Improved the way I interact with friends and family
- Improved my ability to be alert and focused (more productive)
- Improved my energy level!
- Increased my happiness with life!
- Increased my desire to network and spend time around others
- Increased my craving
- Decreased headaches
- Decreased negativity
- Decreased generally “feeling like crap”
